This talk will cover how broadcasting is embracing emerging technologies in the face of a disrupted media industry. We'll see how a shift towards IP infrastructure enables novel user experiences and new ways of producing content. We'll look at concrete examples of prototypes and tools built to explore this new space and what we've learned in the process.
Matthew Shotton is a full-stack creative technologist passionate about innovative media experiences, specializing in video and the web. He has extensive experience prototyping novel technology in the R&D department of the BBC, as well as in numerous personal and freelance projects. His work ranges from installations in the Tate Modern through to distributed video rendering systems, and most recently a novel open source video rendering library for interactive experiences on the web.
